[Show Review] KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities by Cirque du Soleil

Sunday 4 August 2019

Cirque du Soleil is finally back in Singapore with KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities, their 35th production since 1984! Hubby and I are a fan of theatre shows, so we were really excited to finally be able to catch Cirque du Soleil as we missed the previous ones.

Let your imagination run wild and be transported back in time with a scientist ("The Seeker") who is convinced that there exists a hidden world - a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams await. Everything is possible in this fantasy world with an international cast of 47 artists from 17 countries, a collection of otherworldly characters made up of world-class gymnasts, acrobats, contortionists, hand-puppeteers, yo-yo wizards, clowns, actors and musicians!

Tip: If you are thinking of taking a photo here, either take it really early before the crowd arrives or take it during intermission! We tried to take a photo at about 7.30pm on a weekday and it was a nightmare cause lots of people were trying to take a photo and they were photobombing each other. Strangely the people taking photos during intermission were more considerate and took turns to take photos.

As it is the first Cirque du Soleil we caught, we couldn't compare it with the other shows, but love their set up - it's as though we travelled back in time. It was a magical experience to catch a live show under the circus tent set up and see how the place transform once stage lights were up! They had some really interesting acts and they even put in effort to engage the audience before and between acts! The photo below was taken during our favourite act, one that wowed my hubby, myself and the audience!

Note: You are allowed to take photos during the show but no videos and flash photography. We didn't take much photos too cause we just wanted to enjoy the full show!

Anyway, I shall not give any spoilers cause due to popular demand, Cirque du Soleil is adding two final weeks of performances! You can still get your hands on the tickets now and here are the details!
